[Honestly putting Peter around an animal is the best thing Maya has done yet. While he isn't familiar with all the beasties in this world Peter's love of animals remains true. Once Acorn doesn't seem skittish of him he pats her just as Maya bid him to do and one can visibly see the tension that had lined his body moments before ebbing away.

He even smoothes down the parts of scraggly down and muses a little.]

She just wants to be buddies. You'll have to tell me more about the kind of animal she is though, so I know what treats are good for her and how to groom her.
