Play-Testing Maya (Jamjar)!

This is a voice test post for my OC named Maya! She's one of the three sapient races in her world (known as a müra, a race that's no more or less common than any other)... for a good portion of her life before traveling, she was considered nothing special. She wasn't really talented at anything, and she wasn't noticeably bad at doing things either. She looked average for a müra, and falls pretty much in the middle of their typical height range at a measly 4'5" (~140cm) tall.
She picked up a career as a Lorekeeper - in her world, there is no concept of an afterlife or of souls. Instead, when someone dies, all that is left behind of them is their name and their story. Maya records the life stories of other people, and it's a common profession but one that's rather respected. Even so, Maya didn't particularly become memorable in her world just for doing this, as easily anyone in müra with a steady hand and quick writing pace can be one.
However, on one of her journeys, she encountered the "fountain of youth". It's an atoll off the shore of the hot northern beaches, nearly a week's sail out during a rare time of year when the winds will take a ship there instead of blow them towards a more southern archipelago. Her traveling companion, selfish and wanting not to share immortality and the secret with anyone else, held her under the water and drowned her before drinking to his fill. Next sunrise, she crawled out of the fountain, immortal. (Naturally, she ended up having to defend herself after a few attempts by him to kill her)
After gaining immortality, suddenly her role as a Lorekeeper became drastically more special. People recognized that Maya would never forget them, and their stories would live on for all time in her. So she's been roaming the world, collecting stories, and unwittingly growing her own story as well.

Maya's world is still a WIP, so it'll be a little later that I summarize some stuff about it. For now, I'd like to start RPing her with canon characters and other-world OCs alike to boost my motivation to write and to get a stronger sense of her "voice".
I'd like to RP her in various jamjar-esque settings!! So take a pick and we'll get one rolling. It obviously doesn't necessarily have to be the "oh I just got here" schtick either since no one sounds "right" the first time they arrive in game anyway.
Jamjar Settings:
- Luceti: A quaint little town in an expansive forest... too bad it's part of a strange experiment. Residents have wings attached to their backs surgically that are directly tied to their health and livelihood. Maya's wings resemble the wings of a red kite.
- Vatheon: A city in an underwater bubble! A little bit like Luceti, but the scientists seemed much friendlier. There was a greater propensity for "crack events" like bodyswaps or sensory loss.
- Dragon Called: A game that never took off, where characters had dragons bonded to them and they needed to raise from hatching in order to function with the setting's magic. Maya's would have been quite large, and a ruddy red color!
- Haven: A spooky abandoned city, with eerie and dangerous supernatural happenings... Maya's not sure how her immortality might hold up and she certainly isn't sure that she can't be corrupted by evil supernatural forces!
- Recolle: A city where one thinks they belong... until they gradually "regain" their old forms and memories. In the city, Maya had identified as an Eartha Kitt impersonator due to her similar voice and appearance. She eventually regained her cat-faced form, which was quite a shock!! Her memories are patchy, but she's got so many... she'd been alive for over 300 years in her real world!
- Lagunbiru: A luxurious space station where the goal is to fill out your kinky bingo card to go home! Maya is not shy in the least when it comes to stuff like this, at least.
- Soul Campaign: Based in the Soul Eater universe, the characters are either Meisters or Weapons set to fight against Witches. Maya strongly resembles the sword of Goujian - a sword that is ancient but had not rusted or tarnished.
- ETC: Thinking of another game not listed here? Another setting that hasn't been made into a game? Just have a loose idea that doesn't require all this window dressing? Just throw the idea my way and I'll tag it!
Lagunbiru ofc
Of course, Silas has too many features that make him immediately recognizeable, mask or otherwise. He wasn't bothering to wear his, instead sticking by the refreshment table and doing his best to not devour everything. He can maintain some semblance of proper manners, picking up a few things, eating them, then returning. He incidentally reaches for the same thing as a... pawed hand? He pulls his own back, before gesturing]
Do excuse me. Go right ahead.

[Maya was letting her mask balance on her nose, making a game of not letting it fall off. She held it to stabilize as she looked up at a very tall man indeed!! He looked far more like a khün than any of these other odd folk did.]
Are your ears flowers?
no subject
You. Guessed it in one, good miss. I am a druid of the Springtide. Would you- would you happen to be from Myddvai?
no subject
Myddvai? No, not really. The village I was from is long since gone.
no subject
I see. May I ask? Are you an immortal? [a rare situation in his world, but well known as the most powerful breeds could achieve such longevity]
no subject
[It's so odd for someone not to recognize her by her immortality! She was just getting used to being a little famous.]
soul campaign ++ i also just made some shit up
who cares about the details?
mon does. mon cares so fucking much that she's barely sleeping at night, but there's nothing she can do about it at the moment. instead, she's attending class with everyone else, taking notes, and trying not to pretend like she wants to scream. today, in particular, is supposed to be a special day. she's supposed to get paired with a weapon.
oh, joy.
she doesn't even try to smile when the teacher ushers in some sort of cat-woman, cheerfully announcing that they determined the two of them would make the best match for each other. the teacher gestures between them, requesting that they introduce themselves to one another. )
Yea.
( mon offers, completely failing to adhere to the teacher's request. )

Not much of a talker, apparently, though Maya didn't mind - it was far from the first person like that she'd ever met!]
Call me Maya. What are you going by?
no subject
her eyes flick over maya once. short. unusually short. mon hasn't ever encountered anyone shorter than her before. )
Mon.
( then she makes a vague gesture, referring to transforming into a weapon. )
Are you able to do this?
no subject
u asked for it, so die
into Maya's world you go!!
The second time, nearly two hundred years later, they became much more inclined to talk to one another. On a whim, and not wanting to fuss much with her own plans, she invited him along on a long trip across the silk road with a wealthy merchant that wanted to have his life story documented - as all people are wont to do, of course.
The first day of the journey didn't offer much in terms of chances to talk - the merchant was excited to tell his tale, and went at length. But on the second day he had settled down, and after lunch, decided that the remaining two weeks' journey would be plenty of time to finish it all off.
She'd been riding in the cart with the merchant, a feathered ceratopsian pulling the ornate thing along, but Caretaker was so large he was stuck walking alongside instead. She peeked her head out of the open back of the cart, flashing him a smile.]
When's it gonna be your turn for me to record your story?
pretend this is Yuri ok - vatheon
This seems kind of dubious...

[Maya had been sitting on the edge of the coral fountain and writing something down.]
no subject
What was that supposed to mean?]
Um, I meant more like...this thing doesn't seem structurally sound.
no subject
[She glanced him up and down... he wasn't exceptionally tall, he didn't look quite right. He had khün legs and was far too short.]
So, where might you be from?
no subject
[It sure doesn't sound like it!
Yuri glances Maya up and down in turn, though far less noticbly. Her legs were like an animal's--nothing he's ever seen on a □□□.]
Errr..."Earth"? [He clasps his hands together.] Please don't say "me too". I'm going to have an existential crisis at this rate.

[She blew on the ink to help it dry.]

You mean the weird hairless ones?
