To make things a bit easier to go to sleep, Alastor stepped into the shower. The hot water would work wonders to help ease the tension that had been building up. Not to mention soothe away the last of the cocaine's effects.
His understanding of love was warped beyond all belief. Loving someone was painful and obsessive in his experience. It's how he'd loved his mother, seeing her as a saint even as he knew they were doing terrible things because she was doing what she had to to get by with the child she'd been saddled with. He'd felt similarly with his friend Mimzy...
...well, they'd stayed friends up until she realized he wasn't the least bit useful to her down here. Then she'd had his "freeloading ass" hit the road.
As blasphemous as it was to think, Vox wasn't perfect. If he was, he wouldn't be here in Hell. However, Alastor adored him all the same. If that was painful and obsessive, well, that was simply love.
He always kind of had the hots for Alastor, but... did he love Alastor? Fuck... with Al in the shower, Vox busied himself. Hanging his coat off of the kitchen chair, he rolled up his shirt sleeves and tackled the dishes. Not that there were many, but Alastor had cooked - it'd been a long time since Vox did the "fair" thing and cleaned.
This was... domestic. And he didn't hate it, it didn't make him feel bitter about life or remind him of a dull marriage. ...Maybe he should consider a pet. Something small and energetic to scurry around. Hmm. Alastor was kept pretty busy so it'd be better if Vox kept it... then again, maybe a pet wasn't in the cards, since both of them worked so much.
Wait. Why was he thinking about this, again?
Shaking himself out of it, he set the paltry few dishes that were even dirtied up to dry, wiping his hands off and meandering around the apartment, looking at things. It was even more old-fashioned... actually collecting stuff from the era he was alive in, that tracked. But it wasn't the worst, just a little... humble, for his own tastes. The alligator skeleton was cool as fuck, though. He remembered Alastor talking about buying that off someone... he'd been so cute, all enthusiastic to have a little taste of 'home' for himself.
Alastor stepped out of the shower, rubbing himself dry with a towel. Then he changed into some pajamas and headed out to see where Vox had wandered off to. He didn't want to fall asleep without giving Vox a proper goodbye and thank you.
He'd thought about getting a pet a few times, honestly. However, he'd never really had pets, just the local gators that had lived in the bayou around his home.
If he could have, he would've gotten an alligator down here. The skeleton was good enough though.
...What the fuck, of course he wears full body pajamas, that's so fucking cute. Vox grinned, pulled from his rumination. "That looks much better, you can actually get some shut-eye now. You're getting at least a three day weekend starting tomorrow and a little bit of keeping your schedule light. No new projects for a few weeks."
Much, much better, seeing him fluffy and showered and sleepy. "Your job right now is getting caught up on rest."
You little monster, making him fall for you. Vox grinned, patting Alastor's cheek. "Don't panic about your schedule. I'm going to handle it - focus on quality over quantity. You aren't going anywhere - I will always have a place for you."
"Good boy. Never, ever forget that you are my treasure, my perfect find, my pride and joy. Treat yourself like it," Vox hummed, running his knuckles down Alastor's skin-soft cheek. "I'll see you in a few days. Earlier if you need me."
He was Vox's, and Vox's things were to be well taken care of. If this was what Vox wanted, then Alastor would do better not to deliberately put himself in that position again.
Aww. He's so cute. Even after getting in so much trouble, Alastor was still so devoted, so loyal. Who could ask for more? Vox ruffled that damp red hair, chuckling under his breath. "Of course, my deer. I knew you'd understand."

...Shit. He really did love Alastor, didn't he...

His eyes were sleepy, somewhat dreamy at this point. On impulse, he leaned towards Vox to give him a peck on the corner of his screen.
"Thank you for seeing me home."

He'd needed the reality check Vox had provided by yanking control away. He'd panicked and caused Vox issues for it.
He wouldn't make the same mistake.

"Thank you."
No one had ever called him their treasure before or cared as much as Vox had. He owed everything including his continued existence to this man.

Vox always set him straight when he started going off the rails.
