So I can finally expose Nii-san's master for taking advantage of my brother. [He's going to walk down!] And to look for other espers. Or interesting places to go. Maybe there's someone I'd put a curse on.

[killectric]

If your brother knows he's being taken advantage of, can't he just quit?

[Killua follows along, letting out a snort at that bit about curses.]

Curses don't really work like that. You don't want to find other espers, either.

Jealous at the idea of me spending time with other espers?

[killectric]

[Killua flushes, and even though it really wasn't what he meant, he gets annoyed anyway.]

S-stupid, it's got nothing to do with that!

[moresuffering]

Oh yeah? Think I'll just go make other friends?

[TEASING]

[killectric]

What do I care if you do?!

[HE'S BAD AT BEING TEASED.]

[killectric]

[He huffs.]

You can do whatever you want, I'm not your mom.

You didn't even deny it! My feelings are hu--RT! [OOF AHH Ritsu hams it up a tiny bit before one of the steps in the stairwell crumbles under his step. Cheap rotted wood cracks in an unpleasant soggy snap, Ritsu cussing out a word he shouldn't know as he desperately scrambled to not break his leg.]

[Ritsu didn't need to scramble much. Killua's reflexes were lightning fast--the moment he hears the crack and zeros in on its location, a cushion of psychic energy wrapping itself around Ritsu's leg.]

Hey, be careful, idiot.

[moresuffering]

[Ritsu's sweating from the spike in adrenaline, grabbing his chest before grabbing the hand rail. Thankfully, that held well enough.] Shit. [SWEATS... he's jealous... but grateful.] Thanks.

[killectric]

Y-you don't have to thank me either!

[Stuffing his hands into his pockets and trying to play it cool, Killua hurries off down the roof.]

Come on, I want to see the inside!

[moresuffering]

[He'll hurry after (but not too fast - he's stepping a little more lightly after that, head still swimming with adrenaline).] Let's see what we can find.

[The way into the building is through a roof-access door that leads to a dingy staircase. Everything is covered dust and debris, plant roots and stems zig-zagging their way through the cracks in search of sunlight. Wallpaper peels off in sheets, and any exposed metal is already coated in a fine layer of rust. It just screams "haunted"!]

Man, this place really is old.

[Killua starts off down the staircase, kicking a few sizable chunks of rubble out of his path.]

Yeah. If we're gonna find anything like a manga, it'll be in a room that's protected enough from the elements. [Most rooms have windows, and a majority of the windows seem broken in some way. Decades of storms did a number on the place. But it isn't too long before Ritsu spots a room with no broken windows and picks that one to explore.]

[killectric]

If it's destroyed, I'll just use restorative psychokinesis.

[Killua casually wanders around the room, peeking in draws and under beds. No broken windows doesn't mean there's no broken glass, though. Killua is mindful enough of where he puts his hands and knees as he explores.]

[moresuffering]

[Ritsu's brought gloves with him, and he digs them out of his bag before he starts rummaging around. He starts shuffling through rusty old cabinets and desks, curious what he'll find...

Junk... trash.... rotted garbage.... pens? Papers that are falling apart...]

No luck yet.

[killectric]

Ohho... I think I hit the jackpot!

[Killua grins from ear to ear as he scoots back and pulls out a chest from beneath the bed. It's locked tight, with a keyhole right at the front.]

[moresuffering]

Yeah? Can you pick the lock? [He kind of wishes he'd actually gotten that book and learned, a couple years ago... he just didn't want to worry his family.]

[killectric]

[Killua snorts.]

Stupid. Why would I need to pick the lock?

[moresuffering]

Because picking locks is cool.

Lock picking is for normies.
