[Ritsu tenses a bit worriedly too, but Killua just gets a couple more pats before papa Kageyama sits down. "Well, you're welcome over whenever you like then, kiddo. Makes you part of the family, right?"]

If that's how you want to think about it.

["You relax too, Ritsu, we won't tease him too much."

The table is pretty busy, so it'd be actually quite easy to not notice Shigeo's arrival at all - he's quiet and just sort of sits down, apparently making no motion to acknowledge Killua. ...Though if Killua is paying more attention than Shigeo is, he might notice the aura rolling off of the older brother.]

Is that how it works? [Killua sounds skeptical, but at least makes some attempt to humour Ritsu's family. When Shigeo enters the room, the rest of his parents' words are muffled as tunnel vision settles over him.

There's something about that kid.

He can feel it...

He doesn't even realize he's leering, his own aura spiking.]

[Shigeo feels the spike, glancing around briefly-- before settling on Killua. He stares, a bit flatly...]

...Ritsu, who is this?

...He's my soul mate.

[Ritsu's suddenly quite suspicious of that interaction, though Shigeo gets derailed again, turning bright red and smiling in surprise.]

[Killua blinks and tears his gaze away, giving himself a moment. He then looks to Ritsu with a cat like smile, acting perfectly playful despite the violent aura still rolling off of him.]

Oh, is this the brother you were talking about? He's not really what I expected.

...He's not what most people expect.

[Ritsu thinks he's scrutinizing more than Shigeo is, but Shigeo's aura is going to tell the tale more - it's massive, and now that he's aware, it's starting to fill the room.]

[Killua bristles again, finding it hard to keep up a friendly facade when he's being surrounded by that aura. It's massive. How...?]

Yeah, no kidding...

[There's a tense moment between the brothers, before Shigeo just calmly looks at Ritsu.]

Did you know he was an esper?

[Their mother sighs and slaps her forehead. "Oh I knew I shouldn't have gotten the good spoons out!"]

[His eyes widen, and Killua realizes in an instant that despite Shigeo being the only person in this family to give off a psychic aura, they all knew about it. He wasn't planning on keeping his powers a secret or anything, but he didn't plan on telling Ritsu just yet either.

Well, there's no point in denying it now.

His gaze shifts to Ritsu, anticipating a reaction.]

[Oh, Ritsu's certainly reacting, staring at Killua with....... some kind of expression.

An esper? Really? Well, first and foremost, jealousy practically explodes in him. Jealousy and fear.

But so does admiration, fondness, he's impressed.]

That's amazing.

[He'll settle on that, for now.]

... [He has a weird feeling, but Killua bites it back.]

It's nothing that special. [He finally huffs and looks away, chin in hand.]

[Shigeo nods quietly, muttering a soft "I agree" before beginning to eat dinner. "Eat up, you two, dinner's getting cold," their mother huffs at them.

Ritsu starts eating, but it's hard to taste anything. He's pretty excited. Killua's an esper? He's really-- what if-- the thoughts come too quickly to even properly form in Ritsu's mind. What's he eating? Soba? He can't even tell.]

[Killua finally takes his first bite, and his concerns practically melt away.]

Wow... This is pretty good!

[Both parents smile at that! Even if their boys are kind of a mess, that's just teenagers, right? "Thank you! There's plenty, so eat as much as you like, dear."

Dinner proceeds as usual, Shigeo not saying a word and Ritsu having a quiet meltdown as everyone ate. With the older brother agreeing to help with dishes, Killua and Ritsu are dismissed from the table - though Ritsu turns bright red with his father's warning to leave the door open if they go to his room.]

[Killua ends up eating more than Ritsu and Shigeo combined. He's got quite the appetite.

He's also got quite the blush at that warning, stammering out.] I-it's not like that!

[The dad just laughs loudly at that, ignoring the two boys heading upstairs. Ritsu nearly closes the door but does abide by his father's rule. He sort of plops himself into his desk chair, the thing squeaking a bit from Ritsu's weight.

He's giddy...]

You really have psychic powers?

[Well, now that they're in his room... Killua wants to start poking around, but he doesn't get the chance.]

Yeah. You wanna see?

Yeah. Can you--

[He starts looking around for stuff to mess with using psychic powers. He pulls a spoon out of his pencil stand, holding it out.]

A spoon? [Killua snorts.] That's little kid stuff. I'll show you what a real es--

[He makes a face.] Why did you have a spoon in there?

I was-- eating something up here. Pudding.

[Yeah, right.]

You're gonna get ants like that. [Plus that story sounds fake, but okay.]

Stand up.

Are you gonna float me?

[Wow Ritsu don't sound so excited about that]

Uh... If you want. [Killua looks like all the life just drained out of him.]

Can you do it?

[Please don't accidentally hurt him alright...]

[Without Killua so much lifting a finger, Ritsu will suddenly find himself floating into the air.]
