[Killua shrugs his shoulders, and comes to a stop in front of a Family Mart.]

[moresuffering]

[Underwhelming, but whatever... he's already plotting out a few possible excuses for Killua, assuming that his parents are some rich snobs. Sounds like they were assuming a lot about soul mates too.]

Lead the way.

[killectric]

[Killua gives Ritsu a glance, and then heads into the store. Naturally, he goes right for the candy aisle and begins rooting around.]

Eww, who wants chocolate covered raisins?

[moresuffering]

People who have terrible taste.

[Ritsu says it pretty casually, looking through the candies for something he might want. Some red bean candies might be good...]

[killectric]

Haha! No kidding.

[Killua continues to grin following the comment, and a moment later he comes up to show Ritsu a box of Chocorobos. Appropriately, the box is designed to look like a colorful, boxy robot.] Here it is!

[moresuffering]

I'll try one. Here's one of my favorites.

[He grabs two boxes of candy that has assorted fruit flavors.]

[killectric]

I've never had those before. [Killua gives the box a curious look, and then gives Ritsu a daring smile.]

Hey, I bet I can eat more candy than you.

[moresuffering]

[HACKLES RAISED... but Ritsu tempers himself.] Probably. Don't eat too much if you're going to have dinner with my family.

[killectric]

[He pouts, but relents and steps back with a long sigh.]

You're no fun~ [Killua tosses a few more candies into the basket.]

Let's go get some cake. I guess I better try to impress your folks. They're not going to be weirded out by me being a guy, are they?

[moresuffering]

I don't think so. Maybe they'll be disappointed about something, but they trust me.

[killectric]

What's "something"?

[He huffs, and puts an entire chocolate cake into his basket.] It's not you they need to trust.

[moresuffering]

Grandkids, maybe. [Shrug!] My older brother hasn't tracked down his soul mate, though, so they'll be excited that I'm bringing you home.

[killectric]

[Snort!] Yeah, that's all Mother talked about when my string showed up. I'm glad you're not some girl...

So you have a brother? Any other siblings?

[moresuffering]

No, just my older brother. And I'm glad you're not a girl, too. Girls are such a pain.

[killectric]

Yeah, no kidding! They're always so pushy and loud.

[He throws a second cake into the basket.]

It must be nice only having one brother, though. I have three.

[moresuffering]

No one else could really surpass nii-san.

[killectric]

[He quirks an eyebrow at that.] No kidding.

Okay, this basket's getting kind of heavy, let's check out.

[moresuffering]

Alright.

[He'll just follow along. So what if Killua is buying like... three cakes. Weird kid. He'll lead the way to his home, too.]

[killectric]

[Excuse you, it was only two cakes.

At least he has a backpack with him, and Killua sure makes a show of trying to stuff everything inside. Once it's zipped and filled to bursting, they're on their way to Ritsu's place.]

Hey, how old are you?

[moresuffering]

I'm thirteen. Fourteen next July.

[killectric]

Hey, me too! [He grins, flashing pearly white canines.] My birthday's on Tanabata, what about you?

[moresuffering]

Mine's before that, on the 2nd. I'm only a few days older than you, huh?

[killectric]

[He clenches his fist at this revelation.]

That's double the birthday cake in a week!

[moresuffering]

Yeah, maybe. My mom makes good chocolate cakes.

[killectric]

Chocolate cake is my favourite.

[He's making the :3 face at him.]
